'Nurses: Making a Difference Everyday.' That's this year's slogan for National Nurses Week, May 6-12, which celebrates all the things nurses accomplish every single day.

"During National Nurses Week, the Air Force recognizes all nursing services personnel, whether they are active duty, civilian, or contracted by the installation they support," said Captain Theresa Weber, 49th Medical Group, pediatric element chief. "I think the work that nurses do is sometimes not recognized so it's important that we are able to celebrate ourselves."

"It's important to celebrate nurses because it boosts moral and gives back to those dedicated to keeping our Air Force and our families going strong," said Staff Sgt. Nikole Napier, 49th Medical Support Squadron.

National Nurses Week also marks the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Nursing staff work throughout the clinic here at Holloman Air Force Base to include military medicine, family practice, flight medicine, case management, pediatrics and immunizations.
