Hours change to acccommodate exercise players Published May 1, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Heather Stanton 49th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Many base agencies have extended their hours or changed their normal routine in order to provide services to Airmen participating in the Phase I and II exercises taking place April 30 to May 11. Manning issues within the units themselves also drove some of the changes. The Fitness and Sports Center is open 24 hours until Saturday at 7 p.m., 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 24 hours beginning at 5 a.m. Monday. The Shifting Sands Dining Facility is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, the dining facility will be open from 5:30 a.m. to noon, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. The dining facility is also offering a 24 hour grab-and-go. "We having the manning in the dining facility 24/7," said Maj. Raymond Madrid, 49th Services Squadron commander. Breakfast grab-n-go items will have breakfast burritos, cereal, etc. The lunch and dinner items will have an assortment of sandwiches and other augmenting items. Food service boxed meals will be available to players going through the processing line during Phase I for $3.65 for non meal card holders. Meal card holders will have to sign for their meals. During the exercise, the legal office will be offering legal assistance and will draftings on an emergency basis only, said Capt. Andrea Knudson, 49th Fighter Wing assistant staff judge advocate. Following the exercise, the legal office will resume regular hours. For emergency legal assistance during the exercise, call the legal office at 572-7217. "Also, the tax center will be closed," said Captain Knudson. "Taxes can still be accomplished by calling the legal office to make an appointment." In order to accommodate parents working irregular shift, the Child Development Center has extended its hours. The CDC will open at 5:30 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. until May 11. Any "no shows" will be charged $20, advanced noticed is 24 hours or more. For child care outside of scheduled CDC hours, call Ms. Therese Wiley at 572-5848 or 572-5680 for extended duty care.
