Town Hall meeting discusses Holloman issues Published April 5, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Heather Stanton 49th Fighter Wing Public Affairs HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Members of the Holloman community recently met with representatives from various base agencies for the monthly community Town Hall Meeting to discuss base issues. Town Hall Meetings offer base agencies an opportunity to get important information out to the base public as well as give Team Holloman a chance to get their voices heard. During the last meeting, several key issues were addressed. Q: What is the construction at the hospital? A: There is an emergency sewer line repair that started Feb. 23 and is estimated to be completed April 9. Q: What is the status of the traffic lights on First Street? A: The traffic lights on First Street are now shadow/motion sensored between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Q: What is going on with housing privatization? A: 100 percent of residents have signed a new lease. Affected occupants will relocate to the 2700-2800 areas and qualify for a paid move. The estimated completion date for the moves is April 13. Q: Are vehicle decals still needed? A: Vehicle decals have been eliminated for Holloman, but not Air Force-wide at this time. Travelers to White Sands Missile Range and Fort Bliss still require decals. The next Town Hall Meeting will be April 19 at 6 p.m.
