Holloman to sponsor motorcycle safety class Published Oct. 6, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Randahl J. Jenson 49 Wing Public Affairs HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. - -- A free motorcycle safety training class for military members and DOD civilians will be held Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Arroyo Seco Raceway in Deming, N.M. The class will cover motorcycle safety level one and level two of training to include braking, acceleration and turning techniques. This is review training and trainers will not license new motorists. "This is just a refresher course," said Maj. Richard J. Hulun, the 49th Contracting Squadron commander. "But you're going to come out of this with additional skills." Interested riders are encouraged to attend at 1 p.m. in the 49th Wing conference room, Oct. 8, for questions and answers. Another meeting will be at 1 p.m. in the Base Exchange parking lot Oct. 15, for a motorcycle inspection to prepare for the event at Arroyo Seco Raceway on Oct. 19. The goal is to educate motorcyclists on how to better handle their bikes so accidents are less likely to happen. "We hope to improve riders' skills so they know how to ride their motorcycles safely," Hulun said. "Hopefully this training will help decrease accidents and injuries."
