The Holloman Aquatic Center reopened its doors for the summer May 22, 2015.

The Center provides members of Team Holloman, family and friends a summer "oasis" from New Mexico's high summer temperatures. This year the pool is bringing a lot more than just a place to relax, a variety of changes at the Aquatic Center will benefit everyone this season.

For the 2015 season, the Aquatic Center will offer free admission for valid military identification card holders all summer long.  In addition, the Aquatic Center will now remain open every day of the week.

"It's always good to give back to the Holloman community even in a small way," said William Vallee, director of Outdoor Recreation. "Having a place for the youth to get out and do something to cool off in an area where a pool is critical is wonderful, and now that it's free it makes it more convenient for families."

The opening of the Aquatic Center also coincides with the Air Force's Critical Days of Summer campaign, reminding all of us about the importance of safe and responsible decision making during a season traditionally high in accidents. Airmen are encouraged to bear these safety concerns in mind and strive toward a goal of zero preventable mishaps this summer at the pool.

Remember to hydrate appropriately, wear proper eye protection, and apply appropriate amounts of sunscreen.

The Aquatic Center has everything members of Team Holloman need to beat the summer heat. For more information on the Aquatic Center and what they offer you can contact Outdoor Recreation at 575-572-7329.
