Paternoster of the 49th Civil Engineer Squadron plead guilty prior to his sentencing at a general court-martial held on Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico July 28 through Aug. 3. After pleading guilty to two specifications of theft of a vehicle generator and military property gun safe, in violation of Article 121 of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice, and one charge of communicating a threat, in violation of Article 134 of the UCMJ, Paternoster was sentenced to 45 days of confinement, reduction of grade to Senior Airman, and forfeiture of $1,000 per month for five months. Paternoster was also charged with rape, in violation of Article 120 of the UCMJ and sodomy, in violation of Article 125 of the UCMJ. Paternoster was acquitted of both charges by a panel of officer and enlisted members.
