New Mexico State Police cracks down on driver safety

The New Mexico State Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit exiting Holloman Air Force Base to 35 mph. The signs reflecting the change will be placed within the next few weeks. Additionally, expect targeted speed enforcement by the NM State Police in this area. This road is particularly dangerous when it rains, as majority of the accidents have occurred in inclement weather.

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Due to the excessive speeding that has led to multiple accidents outside the main gate of Holloman Air Force Base, the New Mexico State Department of Transportation and New Mexico State Police will reduce the speed limit on the overpass exiting Holloman to 35 mph. The signs reflecting the change will be installed within the next few weeks. Additionally, expect targeted speed enforcement by the New Mexico State Police in this area. This road is particularly dangerous when it rains, as majority of the accidents have occurred in inclement weather, so use caution and follow the speed limit.
