The NCAA Division I college basketball season officially began last week, and luckily for members of Team Holloman, there's a nearby venue to watch the action unfold.  The New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces, N.M., compete in the Western Athletic Conference alongside several other schools in the region. Airmen can drive to the Pan American Center just an hour away from Holloman AFB to enjoy the excitement of a live-game atmosphere and to cheer on a team that's appeared in the NCAA tournament the last three years running.

The Aggies had a rocky start to the season, dropping consecutive losses to Wichita State and St. Mary's, but managed to get back on track after steamrolling Northern Colorado 86-65 Nov. 19. Led by senior Daniel Mullings, who posted 20 points on the night, the Aggies got ahead early in the first half and managed to go 18 for 29 in the second to completely dismantle Northern Colorado.

The Aggies will look to build off their momentum from Thursday, and backed by their passionate student section, will strive to work their way back to the top of the WAC. Other NCAA basketball teams to follow in the local area include University of New Mexico and University of Texas at El Paso.
