Exercise keeps Holloman responders ready
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – 1st Lt. Justin Dominguez, 49th Security Forces Squadron special reaction team member, guards the hall of a 49th Materiel Maintenance Group facility during a hostage-rescue and barricaded-suspect exercise scenario May 3. During the scenario, the 49th SFS SRT successfully rescued three hostages and neutralized the simulated active gunman without sustaining any simulated injuries or casualties. The team, which is comprised of mainly 49th SFS Airmen, is responsible for responding to any active-shooter, barricaded-suspect, or hostage-rescue scenario that takes place on the installation. Airfield compliance tested during AOCI

Saving lives, one class at a time
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Staff Sgt. Claudia Ramirez, 49th Medical Operations Squadron Self Aid and Buddy Care advisor for the 49th Wing, oversees Tech. Sgt. Lisa Alvarado opening the airway of Airman 1st Class Clyde Thomas during a SABC training class March 7 at the 49th Medical Group Education and Training Flight building. All 49th Wing Airmen are required to take the SABC hands-on training class every two years and before any deployments. AF firefighter saves police officer’s life
