Holloman Airman Wins Singing Competition
Senior Airman Tayna Flores, 49th Material Maintenance Squadron equipment management journeyman, performed at the Alamogordo Idol at the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts in Alamogordo N.M., Oct. 17. Flores competed in a 5-week competition, against 25 other contestants, winning the competition and a cash prize of $1,000. Flores grew up in a musically-inclined family and has been singing her whole life, getting most of her inspiration from her mother. She has performed at numerous Holloman AFB ceremonies. 16th TRS building addition grand opening
Colonel Andrew Croft, 49th Wing commander, along with the 16th Training Squadron’s leadership, cut a ceremonial ribbon celebrating the grand opening of a new building addition to the squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Oct. 2. The 16th TRS provides registrar services to the nearly 700 Remotely Piloted Aircraft students attending training at Holloman AFB annually. Holloman's RPA formal training program has grown from 136 students in 2009 to over 700 students scheduled in 2014, and the 49th Operations Group now includes five squadrons dedicated to RPA training operations.
