The Otero County Sheriff’s Department passes out informational flyers and free gifts to Team Holloman members during the National Night Out event hosted by the Soaring Heights community office at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Oct. 7. The night out event is a community-based event that increases awareness about safety programs in local communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts. This is the seventh year Soaring Heights has hosted the event and brought together 11 law enforcement, fire protection and community support agencies to provide Holloman residents information and child safety material. The National Night Out is also an opportunity for the 49th Security Forces Squadron to demonstrate how they keep the base safe through defensive tactics and military working dog demonstrations.
