HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Members of the 49th Security Forces Squadron practice clearing a building with narrow hallways before moving into an actual building to train Dec. 17. The defenders were participating in "First Responder to an Active Gunman" training taught by members of the Roswell Police Department Special Operations Team. In three days, more than 30 Security Forces members attended the day-long training where they practiced how to enter and clear a room and building -- all while working in groups or "formations" to ensure fire superiority in any situation. Energy Awareness Month
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- 2nd Lt. Kevin Diefenderfer, 49th Civil Engineer Squadron energy manager and Gary Krivokaich, 49 CES resource efficiency manager, changed out incandescent lamps with compact fluorescent lamps at the Raptor's Nest here. During their lifetime, the CFL lamps at the Raptor's Nest will each save up to $36 in energy costs. The total change out to CFLs at the Raptor's Nest will save more than $2,000 a year. 49 MDG tests capabilities to immunize using the Seasonal Flu Vaccine.
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Airman 1st Class Eric Canfield, 49th Medical Operations Squadron, administers a Team Holloman member with the seasonal FluMist vaccine Oct. 21 at the Community Activity Center here. Vaccinations started on Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. and are being given for 48 hours straight at the center. The 49th Medical Group is using this 48 hour period to exercise its real world capabilities to immunize and track the base populous in case of a potential disease outbreak. Raptors take to the sky
