Holloman refurbishes retired F-117 Nighthawk
Senior Airmen Micheal Leroy and Trevor Mendez of the 49th Maintenance Squadron, fabrication flight, perform maintenance on the F-117 Nighthawk at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., March 13. The F-117 has been on static display in Holloman’s Heritage Park since its retirement in 2008. Due to sun and inclement weather damage, the 49 MXS removed and towed the aircraft to the hangar to begin the restoration process. Airmen will perform structural maintenance on the Nighthawk and give the aircraft a fresh paint job before returning it for display in Heritage Park.
