Renaming of the Fitness and Sports Center
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The Holloman Fitness and Sports Center was officially renamed the Domenici Fitness and Sports Center here Sept. 18 in honor of retired six-term U.S. Senator Pete Domenici. Renaming of the Fitness and Sports Center
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Senator Pete Domenici receives a tour of the new Domenici Fitness and Sports Center from Staff Sgt. Christina Adams, 49th Force Support squadron after the official renaming of the Holloman Fitness and Sports Center here September 18. The Holloman Fitness and Sports Center officially opened in 2001 and provides Airmen from U.S. and German air forces, along with dependents and Department of Defense civilians with a wide range of individual and team athletic opportunities to include racquetball, squash and basketball.

Barber Shop
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M.-- Virgil George, Desert Sands Enlisted Club master barber, cuts hair here Aug. 5. He has been cutting hair at Holloman since 1957. In 1972, Mr. George was awarded a Nonappropriated Funds contract to start cutting hair at the Enlisted Club. The enlisted club barber shop is open to all active duty military, dependants and contractors, catering to a variety of hair styles. Mr. George has many trophies and tennis paraphernalia on display in the barber shop. During his time as a barber, he competed throughout the southwest in tennis competitions as a past time. Next-gen spacecraft stops at Holloman
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Airmen from the 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron here help unload NASA's Pad Abort One Crew Module from a Mississippi Air National Guard C-17 at BEAR Base Aug. 19. The module arrived here from Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif., so it could be transported by tractor-trailer to White Sands Missile Range to test its ability to get away from the launch pad in the event of an emergency.
