Photos: EOD clears the Red Rio Bombing Range of unexploded ordnance

Colonel Kevin Bennett, 49th Mission Support Group commander, detonates over 120 blocks of C4 explosives placed on the Unexploded Ordnance recovered from Red Rio Bombing Range, N.M., June 26. When a UXO is unable to be identified as live or inert Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians use C4 explosives to either detonate live ordnance or expose the cement center present in dummy bombs. Bennett spent the day with EOD technicians to view the procedures used during a range clearing. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Aaron Montoya/Released)
