Jacob Allers, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department K9 handler, demonstrates the proper way to play the role of a decoy for Staff Sgt. Josef Lopuchowycz, 49th Security Forces Squadron K9 handler, during aggression training at Oñate High School in Las Cruces, N.M., June 19. The decoy is an important part of aggression training, because if done incorrectly the dog can develop bad habits. The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department teams up with the K9 handlers from Holloman Air Force Base once per month to perform additional training for both the MWDs and their handlers.
