An Airman acts as a simulated victim of a ground attack during a field training exercise at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Dec. 5. The exercise was a three day deployment to reinforce combat readiness and evaluate mission effectiveness in deployed situations. The simulated victims were used throughout the exercise to invoke challenging medical scenarios for the deployed Airmen. Exercise planners use theatrical makeup and fake blood to enhance realism.
