A QF-4 Phantom launches from Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., as part of a demo for the Phantom Society Oct. 16. The F-4 Phantom II Society travels once per year to bases that have functional F-4s. The society is made up of 580 former Phantom pilots, maintainers and “phanatics” from 26 countries who are dedicated to preserving the history of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II fighter.
