Airman 1st Class John Turnbow, 849th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, communicates with the aircrew of the MQ-9 Reaper to check the aircraft before it takes off at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., Oct. 24. The crew chief coordinates closely with the aircrew of the MQ-9 to ensure the functionality of all parts before takeoff. The Reaper is a multi-functional aircraft that supports both reconnaissance and combat roles. Holloman trains all Air Force MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper pilots.
