SAN MARCOS, Texas –- Ben Kvanli, a former Olympian who is now a kayaking instructor with the Red River Racing Team and head of the Team River Runner chapter in Texas, paddles through the water in his kayak here Feb. 19. Ben spent nearly his whole life kayaking in the Texas region, and competed in the white-water slalom event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
