HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Maj. Douglas Warren, 49th Maintenance Group, receives the Field Grade Officer of the Year award from Col. David Krumm, 49th Wing commander, during the Wing’s Annual Awards Ceremony, Feb. 11. Major Warren deployed 188 days to Kabul, Afghanistan, where he aggressively sourced $93 million in aircraft parts, which enabled the Afghan air force to operate independently. Additonally, he procured upgraded body armor, ensuring maximum protection and eliminating flight control function limitations. The nominees for FGO of the Year were Major Warren; Maj. Anita Chapel, 49th Medical Group; Maj. Patrick Holland, 49th Mission Support Group; and Maj. Matthew Dean, 49th Operations Group.
