ALAMOGORDO, N.M. -- Vanessa Welch, a military spouse from Holloman Air Force Base, cuts tomatoes to be served with burgers at the St. John's Soup Kitchen July 27, 2010. Ms. Welch is a member of the Big Give team, HUG, whose project during the Big Give is to help out the community through small projects, and the team ultimately hopes to raise enough money to buy a new roof for the St. John's Episcopal Church. Team HUG is one of three in the "small teams" category competing in the Big Give to make life-changing impacts in the local community.
