ALAMOGORDO, N.M. -- Staff Sgt. Robert Washington Jr., the drummer for the U.S. Air Force's 2009 Tops in Blue stage show performs at the Tay Center on March 4, 2010. Tops in Blue is made up of 35 Airmen from around the Air Force that have competed and won talent shows at bases worldwide. The top 35 performers earn the right to attend an intensive and highly accelerated 60-day training course designed to hone their amateur skills into a team of performing professionals. The result is a band of expeditionary entertainers that perform more than 90 shows per year at bases and cities around the world, including forward deployed locations.
