Holloman celebrates 67th Air Force Birthday

Master Sgt. Robert M. Graves, 49th Wing superintendent, originally from Akron, Ohio, joined the Air Force in 2000 for the chance and privilege to work with a diverse group of individuals from different backgrounds. “The Air Force Birthday is just one day out of the year that we get to celebrate our core values and show the world the professionalism and pride in what we do,” said Graves. On September 18, 1947 the U.S. Air Force was officially recognized as an independent military service, leaving behind its former role, the U.S. Army Air Corps. This year marks 67 years of the USAF leading the world in air superiority, space and cyberspace. “The future of our nation is forever bound up in the development of Air Power,” Brigadier General Billy Mitchell, United States Army Air Service.
