The 49th Maintenance Group maintains the MQ-9 Reaper aircraft along with associated Ground Control Stations in the Air Force's largest flying training operation. The group provides maintenance support to AETC's 54th Fighter Group F-16 Fighting Falcon and M1 contract maintained T-38 Talon aircraft. The 49th Maintenance Group directs all maintenance qualification, on-the-job and ancillary training for 700 Airmen, civilians, and contract personnel, managing over $2.9 billion in aircraft and equipment. Finally, the group also supports flying activities, exercises and worldwide taskings as assigned by the Combatant Commanders and the Secretary of Defense against high value targets.
49th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
The 49th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely flightline maintenance and sortie generation of all 49th Wing-assigned MQ-9s, and Ground Control Stations. The squadron provides Crash Disabled Damaged Aircraft Recovery support for the 49th Wing and tenant units assigned to Holloman AFB. The 49th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is organized into the 6th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, 29th Aircraft Maintenance Unit, and the Aircraft Communications Maintenance Unit. The squadron supports the 6th Reconnaissance Squadron as well as the 9th and 29th Attack Squadrons, enabling the graduation of pilots and sensor operators in support of the Air Force's largest Formal Training Unit. Additionally, the Airmen of the 49th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron continuously deploy in support of Combatant Commanders' armed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance requirements.
49th Maintenance Squadron
The 49th Maintenance Squadron is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely repair of on- and off-equipment systems for all 49th Wing assigned MQ-9s, AETC's 54th Fighter Group F-16s, and M1 contract maintained T-38 aircraft. The squadron provides Munitions, Aerospace Ground Equipment, and Fabrication support to the 49th Wing and a multitude of tenant units in support of a wide-range of training, test, and international flying missions. Additionally, the 49th Maintenance Squadron is responsible for calibrating precision measurement equipment for the 144 military and civilian customers throughout the southwestern United States. Finally, the Airmen of the 49th Maintenance Squadron continuously deploy in support of the Combatant Commanders' armed intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance requirements.
