Community Connections Day

The public is invited to attend our second Community Connections Day event from 10AM to 5PM on Saturday, September 6! We're opening the gates to Holloman and inviting all our family and friends in Alamogordo and the surrounding areas to join us for a day of food, fun, music, entertainment and connection to the 49th Wing mission of training F-16 fighter pilots and MQ-9 pilots and sensor operators.

Entry is FREE!!

Activities will be in Hangar 500 and on the flightline. The public will enter through the main gate and all DoD ID cardholders and exhibitors enter through the West “Commercial” Gate. The West Gate is approximately 1 mile west of the Main Gate on Highway 70. If your vehicle includes of mix of those with and without base access, please enter through the Main Gate.

There will be static displays of aircraft, food, a car show, live demonstrations, STEM activities for children, a photo booth, musical performances, and much more. Various local businesses and organizations will have information booths.

Gate Hours & Base Access
Community Connections Day will begin at 10AM and entry into the event begins at 9:30 a.m.
The public will enter through the Main Gate and will be directed to either the General parking area or handicapped parking.
There will be a shuttle to take individuals from the General parking area to the Community Connections Day entry point.
Exhibitors, distinguished visitors, media, and DoD ID Cardholders will enter through the West "Commercial" Gate that is approximately one mile west of the Main Gate on Highway 70.
Vehicles with a mix of persons with and without base access will enter through the Main Gate.
The Main Gate will open at 5AM.
The West Gate will open at 6AM.

Prohibited Items
For the safety and security of all guests, a number of items will not be allowed on base and all spectators will pass through a security checkpoint prior to entering the event. Everyone is subject to search and may be asked to provide proof of identification.

Some of the prohibited items include:
- weapons of any kind, including pocket knives
- illegal drugs
- alcohol
- marijuana in any form
- ice chests
- tents or shade canopies
- outside food, and outside beverages (other than a sealed, unopened water bottle)
- pets are not allowed other than service animals
- drones
- large bags
Please bring a clear bag, although diaper bags, small camera bags, and small purses are allowable. Empty, refillable water bottles or sealed, unopened water bottles can be brought in. Please bring a folding chair and don't forget a hat and sunscreen.

Air Force Academy Band: 11AM-12PM
The Groove: 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
Dusty Low: 2-3PM
Doso Dirtbags: 3:30 - 4:15 p.m.
A DJ will play music in between bands

Magician: 10AM-1PM
Photo booth: 11AM-4PM
Artist doing caricatures: 10AM-5PM

All booster clubs will be selling water.
Bring CASH as not all vendors can accept credit cards.
