The 746th Test Squadron will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a capstone weekend May 15 to 17.

The weekend events include a golf tournament, a family picnic, facilities tours and a dinner.

In 1959, the Department of Defense established the squadron, which has operated under numerous names and charters during the last five decades, but is most commonly known as the Central Inertial GPS Test Facility (CIGTF).

Tours of the CIGTF facility are scheduled for Saturday, May 16. The 120-inch centrifuge will make a mark in history with the spinning of 50th anniversary commemorative coins. Other weekend events include tours of the Holloman High Speed Test Track, Alamogordo Primate Facility, New Mexico Museum of Space History and White Sands National Monument.

Officials would like to invite former squadron members and all DoD cardholders to the events. Some events require registration.
