49th Maintenance Group

49 MXG

The 49th Maintenance Group consists of a team of over 2,100 Airmen, civilians, and contractors from 23 specialties to produce disciplined maintenance and sortie-generation capabilities on F-16 Falcons, MQ-9 Reapers, and associated Cockpits valued at $2.5B.  The group supports MQ-9 Pilot and Sensor Operator training in the Air Force’s largest Formal Training Unit, tasked with producing over 700 combat-ready aircrew per year.  The 49 MXG also supports the world’s largest Fighter Basic Course, tasked with producing over 50 combat-ready F-16 pilots per year.  The Group delivers back shop maintenance to support T-38 Talons and QF-16 Aerial Targets while providing Combatant Commanders with a continuous presence of qualified maintainers conducting combat operations from three forward operating locations. 

49 AMXS:

The 49th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron consists of over 450 aircraft maintainers from nine specialties to provide mission ready MQ-9 Reapers and their associated Cockpits, valued at $365M.  Their team of maintenance professionals generate over 3,000 sorties per year, sustaining the Air Force’s largest Formal Training unit to deliver over 700 combat ready MQ-9 aviators per year. 

49 CMS:

The 49th Component Maintenance Squadron (CMS) provides on and off-equipment maintenance support for assigned F-16 aircraft enabling CAF pilot production, utilizing equipment valued at $4B.  The squadron supports a wide variety of customers to include the regional F100 Centralized Intermediate Repair Facility (CIRF) for two bases and engines worth $378M, while supporting three US Federal agencies and eight MAJCOMs through their Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) facility.  The squadron consists of 14 facilities and 190 personnel, employing maintenance capabilities to include Propulsion, Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), Avionics Intermediate Section (AIS), Egress, Fuels, and Electrical & Environmental.

 

849 AMXS

 

The 849th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is comprised of over 400 skilled aircraft maintainers from 10 specialties to provide mission-ready F-16 aircraft, valued at approximately $1.54B.  The squadron maintains 13 maintenance facilities and equipment worth over $201M.  Their team of professional maintainers generate 10K sorties/12K flying hours annually to support the world’s largest Fighter Basic Course, tasked with producing over 50 combat-ready F-16 pilots per year.

The 49th Equipment Maintenance Squadron is comprised of over 380 Airmen across 11 specialties to provide intermediate and flight line maintenance on F-16 Falcons, 24 MQ-9 Reapers and their associated Cockpits valued at $2.5B.  The squadron provides safe, reliable, and timely structural repair, fabrication, phase inspections, crash recovery, wheel and tire, armament and aerospace ground equipment, and manages Holloman AFB’s munitions stockpile, arming the Air Force's largest F-16 & MQ-9 Formal Training Units.
