Exercise keeps Holloman responders ready
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Staff Sgt. Benjamin Daigre, 49th Security Forces Squadron patrolman, enters a 49th Materiel Maintenance Group warehouse during an active-shooter exercise scenario May 3. Daigre was part of a group of 49th SFS Airmen that responded to the exercise inject, neutralized the gunman, and stayed with the simulated victims until 49th Medical Group personnel arrived for advanced treatment. HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. – Tech. Sgt. Greg Edwards, 49th Security Forces Squadron combat arms training and maintenance NCO in charge, gives a magazine of non-lethal rounds to Airman 1st Class David Jaquez, 49th SFS patrolman, during an active-shooter exercise scenario at the 49th Materiel Maintenance Group compound May 3. For the exercise scenario, 49th SFS responders swapped out their live rounds with the blank rounds to engage the active gunman, who also was using the blank rounds to create a more realistic scenario.
