HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Jeff Harrigian, 49th Fighter Wing commander, accepts the guideon from Col. Stephen DiFonzo as he relinquishes command of the 49th Mission Support Group during a change of command ceremony June 21, 2010. The American change of command ceremony is a military tradition dating back to 1775. The banner was exchanged so every soldier could see the officer now entrusted to lead them into battle. Harrigian last radio show
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Jeff Harrigian, 49th Fighter Wing commander, takes part in his last "Commander's Corner" at 94 KYEE-FM with radio personalities Double J (James White) and Mike Mason. The June 11, 2010 show was the last for both Colonel Harrigian and Double J. Next month's "Commander's Corner" will be hosted by the new 49th Wing commander Col. David Krumm and Mason. The radio show is a monthly event hosted by the commander and the 94 KYEE morning personality and provides listeners with updates on what is taking place at Holloman, while also allowing them to call-in and ask questions. HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Jeff Harrigian is hosed down with water by his son, Matt, after his final F-22 Raptor flight as 49th Fighter Wing commander June 22, 2010. Colonel Harrigian arrived at Holloman in January 2008 and is a command pilot with more than 3,900 flight hours. He will be the last 49th FW commander as the wing will be renamed the 49th Wing upon change of command to better represent the diverse missions conducted at Holloman.
